Permanent Equatorial Pier for 16" LX200 installations- allows secure and rock solid mounting of the substantial weight of the 16" LX200 with precise polar alignment for your observatory application. For permanent installations only.
More Details and Specifications
The 16" Permanent Equatorial Pier is an outstandingly rigid, permantly mounted pier engineered to minimize any vibration. Strong enough to carry the weight of the 16" LX200 with any and all accessories including piggybacked telescopes. Thus mounted in the equatorial mode, there is no field rotation in either the main telescope or in any auxiliary, piggybacked instruments making this the mounting method of choice for most observatories where astrophotography and imaging are intended to take place. All Permanent Equatorial Piers are custom-manufactured to match the latitude of the specified observing site to an accuracy of 1/2 degree or better. Fine tuning and leveling is then typically accomplished using the pier mounting bolts. Specify latitude at time of order. Standard height is approximately 42", custom height available. Additional charges may apply for increased height. For permanent installations only- must be bolted to a solid foundation. Main pier is 10" diameter 1/2" wall steel column. Weight is approximately 240 pounds. Ships on pallet.
